UNILAG Student’s Unionism Now Back after 10 Years of Ban

The news reaching us here is that, the authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have lifted the ban of student unionism in the university.

The ban was effected when protesting students in 2005 destroyed the residence of the then VC, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, among many other property belonging to the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahmon Bello, announced the lifting of the ban during the institution’s matriculation on Friday. No fewer than 6, 644 were admitted to the school for the 2014/2015 academic session.
