QUALIFICATIONS:

Professor (CONUASS 07)

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognised University with at least fifteen (15) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a University plus Postgraduate supervision.

Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership. Candidates must also specialize in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of at least fifteen (15) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.

Associate Professor (CONUASS 06)

Qualifications are as stated for Professor but with at least twelve (12) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a University plus Postgraduate Supervision. Candidates must have evidence of at least twelve (12) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.

Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05)

Qualifications are the same as for (b) above but with at least nine (9) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a University plus Postgraduate supervision. Candidates must have evidence of Nine (9) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.

Lecturer I (CONUASS 04)

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. from a recognised University with at least six (6) years Post-Doctoral teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. They must also have evidence of six (6) journal articles in both local and international learned reputable journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.

Lecturer II (CONUASS 03)

Candidates should possess the same qualifications as for (d) above with three (3) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.

They must also have evidence of three (3) publications in local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.

Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02)

Candidates should possess a M.Sc. or M.A. Degree in a relevant field plus clear evidence of registration for a Ph.D. programme from recognised Universities. Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Candidates should possess a professional degree plus Ph.D. from a recognized University in relevant area; fifteen (15) publications, twelve (12) in print, three (3) of which may be referred proceedings and three (3) of which should be in different reputable journals. Membership of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria is also required with Fifteen (15) years cognate experience.

Principal Librarian (CONUASS 05)

Candidates should possess a Masters degree in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised University, with nine (9) years (post Masters) cognate experience plus eight (8) publications, five (5) of which must be journal articles in reputable learned journals. Membership of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria is also required with Twelve (12) years cognate experience.

Candidates should possess the same qualifications as for (c) above but with six (6) years (post Masters) cognate experience, plus four (4) journal articles in reputable learned journals.
